Tag Rugby Tournament:
On Tuesday, two teams attended the Tag Rugby tournament, which we hosted as a school. The children all thoroughly enjoyed the day, displaying fantastic sportsmanship and teamwork. Both teams had a very successful day, the A team won all of their matches and were winners of the cup and the B team went on to win the shield. Well done to both teams!
The day was a great success, but wouldn't have been if the PTA, Mrs Bennet and Clare Hooper hadn't provided their help and support. Thank you to each of you for assisting with the event.
The Alford Cup Cross-Country
On Monday, 24 children attended this new cross-country competition. They all ran incredibly well over the unknown course, never giving up (not even when their shoes came off) and cheering each other all the way to the finish line. Both the boys’ and girls’ A teams were awarded 3rd place for the large school competition, which they were all incredibly pleased with. Thank you to all the parents who provided transport and supported the children.
On Wednesday 7th December, 24 children from years 5 and 6 took part in the inter-school sportshall athletics competition at Okehampton. It was a fantastic morning and a really enjoyable event, in which the children once again did themselves proud. I was really pleased with their team spirit and support they showed to each other. A huge well done to all them! They all performed incredibly well, a huge congratulations to Isobel Horsley, who won the girls standing long jump, but also the A team, who will now go on to compete in the West Devon Finals in January. Many thanks to the parents who provided transport to the competition.
On 4th October we took a netball and football team to the annual tournament at North Tawton Primary School. All players worked extremely hard as a team and showed some great skill. Well done to the netball team: Izzy H, Aggie, Tom, Sienna, Amelie, Tilly and Alice. Also, to the footballers: Morten, Luka, William, Ed, Caleb, Conor, Michael, Xavier and Liam. Mrs Dennis.
