Our Environment
Our school lies in the heart of the pretty historic village of South Zeal on the Edge of Dartmoor, surrounded by beautiful countryside. We benefit in many ways from the strong sense of community and the richness of our local environment.
School Office and Hall
The school office and our hall are in the main school building. We use the hall for assemblies, school dinners, music and many other activities, such as the story-telling shown below.
Reception Class
This is our Reception Class. Our teacher is Mrs Culverhouse and we are helped by Mrs Herrod-Taylor and Mrs Glover.
Year 1
This is the Year 1 classroom. Our teachers are Mr Unwin and we are helped by Mrs Bazeley and Mrs Webber.
Year 2
This is the Year 2 classroom. Our teacher is Miss Bennett and helped by Mrs Lee.
Year 3
This is the Year 3 classroom. Our teacher is Miss Hutchings and we are helped by Mrs Sampson and Mrs Bragg.
Year 4
This is the Year 4 classroom. Our teacher is Miss Gray and we are helped by Mrs Pinn and Mrs Woods.
Year 5
This is the Year 5 classroom. Our teacher is Mr Swainson and we are helped by Mrs Glover and Mrs White.
Year 6
The Year 6 classroom is in the original school buildings. Inside is the rope we pull to ring the school bell. Our teacher is Mrs Hoggins and we are helped by Mrs Laybourn.
Library
This is our library. Apart from the books, we have lots of our art work on display.
ICT Suite
This is our ICT Suite. It is soon to be upgraded and moved to a larger room.
Outside Areas
These are some pictures of the outside areas around the school. As well as space to run around, we have lots of outdoor games and places to sit and talk to our friends.
As well as the playgrounds, we have a sports field, a quiet sitting area with willow tunnel and a nature area.
